> The Xtp-115 offers the unique combination for rapid picking and processing of all common types of microtube, including 0.5ml, 0.65ml, 0.75ml and 1.4ml varieties (with or without 2D data-matrix coding).
> Capable of tube picking, 2D reading, weighing and liquid handling using either a single fixed or disposable tip system. This combined functionality creates an independent and stand-alone picking and processing centre.
> 12 rack or plate capacity with “quick change” racks to ensure that even high throughput demands are met.
> Integral liquid handling capability enables cherry picking, dilution, reagent addition and sample transfer functions to be integrated into a single tube picking protocol.
> 2D data-matrix reading provides positive tube identification.
> Analytical grade balance to give tare weights, determine liquid compound volume or dry compound weight.
> Decapping/capping module enables liquid handling steps to be completed. Can even be used with screwcap tubes, e.g. 1.4ml versions from Matrix Technologies and Abgene or cryovials.
.> Fixed probe allows septum piercing, suitable for use with septums from Matrix Technologies, Micronic and Abgene.
Module information: > XYZ arm. The main arms carries the single channel sample processing unit, tube gripper and linear bar code reader.
> Sample processing unit consists of a precision 1.0ml syringe and drive mechanism (vol. range 1.0ul - 1000ul) linked to either a Teflon coated stainless steel probe or tip nozzle capable of accepting 250ul or 1000ul disposable tips. Probe is able to pierce all commonly used 1.4ml septum, the system can replace disposable tip either back to the tip rack or to waste.
> Tube gripper is capable of picking all standard 0.5ml, 0.6ml, 0.75ml and 1.4ml tubes and cryo-vials. When used with the decapping station the gripper is also able to uncap screwtop tubes to allow liquid handling access.
> Linear bar code reader identifies racks and microplates. The software incorporates “smart positioning” allowing the user to place racks in a any position and the system will identify their position and process accordingly.
> 2D bar code reader identifies the 2D code on the base of the tube. The reader used is based on the well recognised Xtr-1 ensuring a very high read rate with all tube varieties. the tube ID can be linked to a database using ODBC connectivity for a two-way data exchange.
> Weigh station consists of a four position balance designed for robotic system integration and provides rapid, accurate weighing at mg level.
> A variety of rack, tube, microplate and vial holders and adaptors are available. These are easily converted for rapid rack changeover when handling large workloads or for flexibility
> An active wash station is provided to minimise carry-over. Wash fluid is pumped around the probe using a vacuum pump to remove waste
> PC based software includes database functionality and connectivity, with ActiveX control. For security, a run-time module is provided to allow applications to be run but not edited.

Applications:
As a cherry picker the Xtp-1152 is an excellent system for any application involving cherry picking (tube or sample), defragmenting, re-arraying, and tare weighing in preparation for dry compound addition.
As a sample processor the Xtp-1152 is the ideal choice for cherry picking, sample transfer, reagent addition, serial dilution or assay preparation.
As a combination tube picker and sample processor, the system can automate processes that would otherwise require significant integration of separate systems.
