The X-Seal Manual Adhesive Plate Sealer offers a rapid and simple way to seals any SBS standard 96, 384 and 1536 microplate or deep well block.
The system operates by simply sliding a plate into the left side of the unit which then starts automatically. The plate is pulled through without the need for further assistance and is sealed in less than 5 seconds. A roller mechanism is used to apply a constant pressure ensuring a more even seal than achieved using compression plate-based systems.
Adhesive seals are widely used for short and long term sample storage, thermal cycling and assay incubation. It is the preferred sealing method for applications where plates must be assessed and sealed multiple times as heat damage to the well chimneys is prevented.
This adhesive plate sealer can also be used for applications such as protein crystallography and bacterial/cell culture growth where sealing with adhesives is required but even small temperature fluctuations need to be avoided.
The range of sealing materials available includes peelable, pierceable, optically clear and non-sticky pressure-sensitive seals. All demonstrate good integrity at low and high temperatures (down to -80C) and chemical resistance (including DMSO).
Compatible with a wide range of foil (e.g. 3M micro encapsulated foil materials) and adhesive seals (DMSO resistant). Peelable foils can be removed without leaving a residue and resealed up to 25 times.
