New MultiPod station enables constant monitoring and maintenance of high capacity compound storage conditions.

This exciting addition to the StoragePod family of modular storage systems has been designed specifically to meet high capacity storage requirements. Up to 20 StoragePod enclosures can be connected to the MultiPod station simultaneously to provide flexible, low cost, compound storage with continuous and automatic system monitoring and environmental control. Configurable monitoring and purge routine parameters, allowing enclosures to be re-purged as needed, help to maintain optimal inert storage conditions. The MultiPod station is an ideal choice for safe transportation of compounds within research organisations, for the removal of water from damaged (DMSO) compounds, and storage of nano-volume samples to build up plate stock. 384-well microplates added to the cyclo-olefin range, now more have the opportunity to improve results.

A new series of 384-well cyclo-olefin microplates, designed for optimal imaging and high-content screening applications, is now available from FluidX.

These plates meet the demanding needs of scientists who require a high-performing imaging microplate with extraordinary flatness and optical clarity properties, at a competitive price.

Available as black, white, or clear versions. Further choices include solid or film bottom, chamfered-square or low-volume round wells, lids and bar-coding options. The new 384-well microplates (as with others in the range) conform to SBS standards and can be ordered with the unique evaporation control edge design to shield assay wells from the edge effects of evaporation or water uptake.

Protect precious samples with the new AD-192 Argon Dispenser.

The convenient AD-192 Argon Dispenser applies a blanket of argon to the top of racked storage tubes prior to capping or sealing, providing samples with additional protection from the actions of humidity and oxygen. Two needle assemblies, each consisting of 96 individual stainless steel needles, evenly distribute a preprogrammed amount of argon gas into the top of the tube racks while excess argon is captured by a vacuum source connected to the bottom of the dispenser. Suitable for use with 1.4ml and 0.5ml storage tubes, height adjustable.

Launch of the Xtr-1pro, a perfect 2D code single tube reader.

A new addition to the FluidX range of single and whole rack readers, the xtr-1pro is a compact and unique high-speed single tube reader unit with integrated display and navigation buttons designed for bench top 2D tube code reading. This easy-to-use reader decodes all 2D bar-coded tubes including tubes from Abgene, Matrix Technologies, Micronic, Nunc and FluidX. in 24, 48 and 96-well formats, including larger capacity tubes such as glass compound storage tubes, cryo-vials and biological sample tubes.

With a read time of just 1 second, the Xtr-1pro immediately displays tube data so the user is able to confirm sample name, volume or any other information directly from the database. More...

September 2007

An exciting month with 4 new additions to the fluidX team!

Ines Schumann has joined to set up a sales office based in Frankfurt which will cover the needs of customers based in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Her considerable experience in Life-Science support and reputation for high quality customer support will provide an immediate benefit to our customers in German speaking countries.

Haakon Howard joins us from Bigneat. He has established excellent relationships with many customers in France and now plans to move there to create a French branch of fluidX. This will allow us to now provide a direct sales and service in France.

We also welcome Remi Van Liempt and Jan Ghyssaert to the fluidx fold as part of a unique partnership with Elscolab.

StoragePod able to dry compounds stored in moisture-contaminated DMSO.

Customer data not only confirmed that storing compounds within a StoragePod greatly reduced the amount of moisture-uptake (which can lead to precipitation and compromised results) but also demonstrated a significant drying effect on moisture-contaminated DMSO. The changes in volume and %DMSO were compared for compounds plates stored at room temperature, at 4 degC and within the purged StoragePod system over a period of 42 days. Data was collected for plates with and without lids, showing that the lids were able to minimise moisture-uptake on a short-term basis only. Please contact FluidX for further details.

EDC Biosystems appoints FluidX as an exclusive European partner to distribute the ATS-100 Acoustic (non-contact) liquid dispenser. The ATS-100 performs precise, controlled transfer of chemical and biological compounds, the standard unit can dispense between 1.0-250nl, ideal for plate reformatting, compound library screening, assay development, cherry picking and serial dilutions (IC50s) using 384, 1536 and 3456 well plates. A second option creates non-contact quantitative microarrays and is suitable for use with proteins, tissues and whole blood. This option is able to dispense volumes between 250pl - 250nl.

May 2007

FluidX signs European agreement with nAscent BioSciences Inc to distribute, for automated platforms, the range of unique PocketTip® disposable pipette tips. PocketTips offer nanoliter dispensing using your existing liquid handling equipment. Perform assays quicker, prevent compound precipitation, eliminate intermediate dilutions, conserve valuable compound, reduce reagent costs through miniaturization and provide excellent mixing.

April 2007

The XSD-96 is introduced at SBS in Montreal; The XSD-96 is the first fully Automatic Screw Cap De-Capper / Re-Capper for 96 format Cryo Tubes. Compatible with tubes from Nunc, Matrix and soon Micronic.

March 2007

Another new product! fluidx have launched the xdc-96pro, an automated de-capper / re-capper designed for use with Matrix, Micronic and Abgene 05ml, 0.75 and 1.4ml 96 format tubes sealed with Sepra-seal / cap-cluster style closures. The system can de-cap a whole or partial rack within 15 seconds and either hold the caps for subsequent reapplication or dispose of them to waste. This system enables much simpler liquid handling access to samples stored in 96 format tubes; the problems previously associated with either septum removal or piercing has resulted in a flurry of advance orders for this product

June 2006

fluidX now offer the xps-721 Gantry based 96/384 channel liquid handling system with automated tip changing capability and the xps-24 a dedicated 8/12/16/24 channel serial dilution system ideal for IC50 and other applications demanding rapid and precise liquid handling. This system is also capably of automatically changing tips. To compliment these (and other) systems, a range of disposable reagent reservoirs is now available.
