Probably the largest range of tube readers ever shown!
At the lively Lab Automation Conference last month, FluidX presented one of the largest selections of 2D-coded tube reading solutions - ever!
On show were no less than five different whole-rack reading systems, incorporating the ability to decode 384-format tubes as well as tubes supplied by REMP. Three single-tube readers also featured and included the Xtr-1pro with full database integration and the Xtr-1elite which is considered to be the simplest 2D single tube reader available!

DataPlate plays key role in exploring efficacy of automated sample stores, findings presented at ELRIG/SBS conference.
“Environmental Stability and Sample Integrity within Automated Sample Stores” (R. Griffiths, C. Walsh and R. Grimwood) describes a method for quick and easy mapping of environmental conditions using a unique SBS format ‘data logging plate’, and presents data obtained from testing with two market-leading laboratory-sized automated sample stores. Details are to be presented at this month’s ELRIG/SBS conference in Bournemouth.

New MultiPod station enables constant monitoring and maintenance of high capacity compound storage conditions.
This exciting addition to the StoragePod family of modular storage systems has been designed specifically to meet high capacity storage requirements. Up to 20 StoragePod enclosures can be connected to the MultiPod station simultaneously to provide flexible, low cost, compound storage with continuous and automatic system monitoring and environmental control. Configurable monitoring and purge routine parameters, allowing enclosures to be re-purged as needed, help to maintain optimal inert storage conditions. The MultiPod station is an ideal choice for safe transportation of compounds within research organisations, for the removal of water from damaged (DMSO) compounds, and storage of nano-volume samples to build up plate stock. 384-well microplates added to the cyclo-olefin range, now more have the opportunity to improve results.
A new series of 384-well cyclo-olefin microplates, designed for optimal imaging and high-content screening applications, is now available from FluidX.
These plates meet the demanding needs of scientists who require a high-performing imaging microplate with extraordinary flatness and optical clarity properties, at a competitive price.
Available as black, white, or clear versions. Further choices include solid or film bottom, chamfered-square or low-volume round wells, lids and bar-coding options. The new 384-well microplates (as with others in the range) conform to SBS standards and can be ordered with the unique evaporation control edge design to shield assay wells from the edge effects of evaporation or water uptake.

Protect precious samples with the new AD-192 Argon Dispenser.
The convenient AD-192 Argon Dispenser applies a blanket of argon to the top of racked storage tubes prior to capping or sealing, providing samples with additional protection from the actions of humidity and oxygen. Two needle assemblies, each consisting of 96 individual stainless steel needles, evenly distribute a preprogrammed amount of argon gas into the top of the tube racks while excess argon is captured by a vacuum source connected to the bottom of the dispenser. Suitable for use with 1.4ml and 0.5ml storage tubes, height adjustable.

StoragePod able to dry compounds stored in moisture-contaminated DMSO.
Customer data not only confirmed that storing compounds within a StoragePod greatly reduced the amount of moisture-uptake (which can lead to precipitation and compromised results) but also demonstrated a significant drying effect on moisture-contaminated DMSO. The changes in volume and %DMSO were compared for compounds plates stored at room temperature, at 4 degC and within the purged StoragePod system over a period of 42 days. Data was collected for plates with and without lids, showing that the lids were able to minimise moisture-uptake on a short-term basis only. Please contact FluidX for further details.
